For the last 1.5 years, I have had miserable post nasal drip. Throughout the entire day, I have yellow mucus glued to the back of my throat. On top of that, usually once a day, I cough up a bigger hard clump. I have a constant sore throat, and find myself coughing all day long. Dealing with this constantly has completely ruined my social life and mental health.
I’ve been to 6 doctors, 3 ENTs and haven’t found anything that’s given me relief. The last ent told me “I’m out of ideas for you” I’ve had 3 endoscopies and a CT scan. No signs of infection or significant blockage according to the ENT who reviewed it.
Here are things I’ve tired:
-NeilMed sinus rinse daily
-FloNase
-Humidifier running all day
-Ayr moisturizing gel
-Various anti-histamines
-Budesonide
-Ipatropium
I live in a very dry climate (central oregon) it almost never rains here. I’ve never had issues anywhere else I’ve lived. I’m at the point where if I can’t find any relief I’m going to have to quit my job and move, giving up the entire life I’ve created for myself. I just can’t keep dealing with it daily.
I’m not sure what’s causing it. Maybe it’s the dry climate, maybe there’s an allergy here, maybe the room I’m living in has mold or something that’s bothering me?
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions of things to try, I would be extremely grateful.
