About a year ago, I bought a small olive tree. It was in a small pot and didn’t grow at all for a year, so I decided to repot it.

I used about 20 liters (≈5.3 gallons) of Mediterranean soil. I know the pot I chose was probably too large, but I thought it would be fine. After repotting, it finally started putting out some new growth.

Around that time, the weather was getting warmer, so I moved it outside. Unfortunately, I think I did that too early — nighttime temperatures still dropped to about 1°C (≈34°F), and I forgot to bring it inside for a few nights.

After a few days, the leaf tips started turning gray. So I brought it back inside. Around the same time, I also noticed that the soil wasn’t draining well and was holding a lot of moisture.

I was worried about root rot, so I repotted again and mixed in about 4 liters (≈1 gallon) of perlite to improve drainage. While doing that, I checked the roots and they seemed okay — no obvious dark or rotting parts (though I’m not an expert).

Since then, I’ve been monitoring the new growth and trying to keep the soil on the drier side. But now even the new leaves are starting to dry out.

That’s when I took these pictures.

Please help me save this plant.
