I am leaving my role as a PM to join a startup in an industry that was closer to my pre Amazon role. I will make less money and have more responsibility, but my current role at Amazon is mind numbingly boring. It is a great life though, I work relatively little, have an amazing commute, and get to have a life outside of work, but I am craving more speed and shipping technical products instead of writing yet another doc… I’m obviously getting a bit nervous because my new commute will be a lot worse, the startup is small but well funded, but I received some equity in the offer.

I’m in the decision point of staying in a chill job that bores me with a tech team that is not very strong or take a deep dive to be a senior engineer in a small but growing startup. Life will be more chaotic and I’ll make less money and commute more, am I crazy? I haven’t resigned from Amazon yet.
