At least it was 17 years ago - I’m not even sure if crew are still allowed to pick up kids. But this remains one of my favorite photos from my son’s first cruise in 2009. He got so much attention because so many cast members were missing their own children. This was taken on embarkation day, while we were relaxing near the spa and letting him crawl around. And the same kid today - he still loves cruising.

EDIT: Fun fact - my son was reading Reddit and thought this was a fun picture. Then he clicked the arrow to the next picture and was surprised to see it was him!
