This has been a long time coming.

Over a year ago, I felt drawn to research Catholicism and orthodoxy.

Long story short, I was raised in a charismatic, Pentecostal family and attended an evangelical bible college. I backslid in 2020 and only in the last 2 years did I start to seek God again. I realised that the church I was in (and my previous churches) had the usual Protestant/non denominational problems that get discussed here.

I have attended catholic mass may times since last year and have even been attending RCIA, but I feel nowhere near ready to make a decision.

Now here’s the interesting part…….the Divine Liturgy has left me feeling like my brain has been to the gym. My mind is tired, the service was not comfortable and I had a hard time following it……and I LOVED IT!

And you know what else? My parents came with me……my same parents who have also left the Pentecostal church, but have always hated the idea of the “old traditional churches”. They currently attend a traditional Protestant church.

A month ago, they would get defensive if I mentioned Catholicism or Orthodoxy.

I think they actually enjoyed it more than i did!

Anyway, I don’t particularly have any questions about this, I just wanted to share my experience. I’m hoping to visit again.
