I have a 2005 Ford Ranger XLT (4x4). I’m in Chicago. The read section of the frame is rusting to the point that I’m ready to replace it. So I need to find a rear frame replacement but in a bit worried about sourcing from a salvage yard here because rust does such a number on vehicles here.

Has anyone had experience ordering one online from regions less susceptible to rust? Any recommendations to help me try and track down a cleaner replacement? Thanks

I have an older truck and need to replace the coolant thermostat but I park on the street and see you’re not supposed to perform work that renders the car immobile there.

Saw the gearhead workspace closed last year which would have been great. Any recommendations on where to work on car for someone without a garage?
