Cornell Tech vs SWE after career gap

Hi everyone! Looking for some honest suggestions on a career dilemma. I worked as a software engineer for 3 years at a Big Tech and always wanted to eventually move into tech strategy/product through an MBA.

Due to some personal circumstances, I ended up taking a ~2 year caregiving gap. I now have an offer for the 1-year Cornell Tech MBA and am trying to decide between taking it vs staying in India and rebuilding my technical skills to return to a software engineering role.

The MBA could help reset the gap, rebuild confidence/network, and help me pivot to a tech strategy role which I always wanted, but the huge financial investment, current hiring market, and visa sponsorship uncertainty worry me.

Would appreciate any suggestions, thanks!
