I’m working on a Mars survival/base-building game and I want to understand what players actually value most in this type of experience.

If you were playing a game set on Mars:

• What would be your main goal? (Pure survival, colony expansion, story-driven progress, automation, etc.)
• What kind of building system do you prefer? (Free placement, grid-based, snap points, modular rooms?)
• What gameplay loop keeps you engaged long-term? (Gather → Build → Expand → Automate? Something else?)
• How important is realism vs gameplay freedom?
• What kind of atmosphere would you expect? (Lonely, harsh survival? Sci-fi advanced colony? Horror elements?)
• What events or challenges should exist? (Dust storms, oxygen failure, system breakdowns, alien threats?)
• What do you usually enjoy the most in survival/building games?

I’m trying to design something that feels meaningful, not repetitive, so I’m interested in what actually keeps you playing.
