Something is really wrong with my cat and I’m honestly panicking. He’s usually super active and always runs downstairs for food, but today he’s been extremely lethargic and barely moving. He’ll eat if I physically bring the food to him, but he won’t come get it himself.

What’s really worrying me is that when I try to pick him up or check him over, he hisses/growls at me, which is NOT normal for him. I’m scared he may have some kind of injury or be in pain somewhere, but he won’t let me look at him closely. His eyes also seem kind of watery/glossy and he’s just staring off sometimes.

I’m in Austin, TX and I really don’t have the money for an emergency vet right now. Does anyone know of any low-cost vets, emergency clinics with payment plans, CareCredit options, or anything that could help? Or has anyone experienced something similar with their cat?

Please be kind, I’m really worried and any advice helps.
