Increased income has not changed EBT benefits
My husband recently started a new job, which increased our income and may just barely disqualify us from food stamps (we were originally only receiving them on my income, as he was between jobs and finishing an unpaid internship). I tried to do the calculations myself, but I can't tell. Before the 10th of the next month, after receiving the first paycheck, I updated our income on the Abe website. I was expecting them to review our income and adjust our EBT accordingly, but we still received the same food stamp benefits one month after I reported the change. I tried to call to ask further, but their phone lines are always busy and won't let me talk to anyone or even wait on hold. I am worried that we will get in trouble for continuing to receive EBT and be forced to pay it back in some way. Has anyone encountered a similar situation or know what we should do?
