Boat: German Frers-designed 1985 Beneteau First 435. Has a triple-spreader IOR-style rig with rods.

Problem: a crack in the base of port- side lower spreader.

Dilemma: boat was just splashed and mast was just restepped, don't want to pull mast again because of cost and massive hassle of having just done this. No idea how crack wasn't seen when mast was down, but that ship has sailed.

Plan: support mast with halyards on port side, remove cracked spreader and have it repaired and reinstalled quickly as possible. I know experienced riggers that say this is totally safe and doable on a keel-stepped boat like mine.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? Much appreciated.

Seems like everyone under a certain age slaps the word "lowkey" in front of any opinion or statement. So much so, that it has lost whatever meaning it had originally. Example: If something really sucks, they say "that lowkey sucks." If something kind of sucks, or slightly sucks, they also say "lowkey sucks." I thought "lowkey" meant subtle or understated. I'm confused. Was Adolph Hitler "lowkey evil" or "very evil"?

So what is it gen Z? What does this word actually mean? And why do you use it so much? Maybe pick up thesaurus and use a different word to be more descriptive and concise about things you're trying to say or explain to people?
