Feeling the sickest and weakest after starting using cpap
I had trouble falling asleep with hypnic jerks so went ahead and had my sleep checked. Turned out I have severe obstructive sleep apnea. The test night was about the worst sleep i have ever had though so dunno if it is constantly that bad. Weird thing was I was not really tired during the day.
Anyway got the cpap week ago. Nostril mask fits great, no leaks and I can use it easily. First night used it for over 7 hours. Immediately felt sick the first day. Was feeling horrible in the evening so took a pill to help me sleep (stella, a benzo-type pill as per the docs orders), used the mask for 10 hours. AHi about 10 for both nights. Woke up feeling like hell. Sick to my stomach, sore lungs and sides,heart beating like crazy, cramps in the legs, dizzyness… went to the hospital to check my heart and basic bloodwork. All normal?!
Night 3 could not fall a sleep at all with sentral apneas incoming everytime i start to fall….
Felt like hell the next day.
Got the pressures adjusted and now they are 5-11.
Day 4 another pill and slept a good 7,5 hours with ahi only 5.
Again the next night completely shit with sentrals and also noticed my upper airway is sometimes getting obstructed when i breath out against the pressure…
A week has passed and I am feeling the most sick I have ever in my life… what the hell is going on? Everyone I have talked to said that you immediately start feeling better?!?
Cannot sleep at all without a pill. The sleep test showed 99% obstructive but now I am getting sentrals like crazy when trying the machine without meds….
Help!
