Needing Opinions from a newbie going to Chicago
Hi everyone! My family of 3 are planning a vacation to Chicago for the first time at the end of July! Special gift for our daughter's sweet 16th! Her one request is to see the architecture/city and the art institute while visiting. We will not have a car so solely relying on our feet or public transport.
I am currently searching for a nice hotel to stay at that, but there are so many options I am having a hard time deciding. I am trying to find something around $500 a night or lower. What I'm getting stuck on are reviews. They are all over the place and never being there I would love insider information on which hotels are worth staying at. Comfort is important to us, quiet (I know street noise will interfere with this, but are some locations better than others?), and either close in walking distance to attractions or close to public transportation.
Appreciate any help you can provide!
(P.S. would love any recommendations for attractions that shouldn't be missed or restaurants)
( P.S.S. I am aware we picked the week of lollaplooza and am currently trying to switch dates to the week prior as the week after doesn't work for us, hopefully we can)
