This Brother has served for too long. Too long even for the time in a Redemptor dread.
He erased his real name and started calling himself, simply, “Crusade”.
He enjoys looking after and protecting the neophytes. Bringing the Emperor’s protection when hope seems lost.
But towards the traitors and archenemies, there’s only the cold chants
NO PITY
NO REMORSE
NO FEAR
One of my sword bro has exactly the same posture so I figured I could just add couple of traitor skulls to his backpack.
P.S. so far this feels an incredible read
Brothers, I’m here to share my 1000-point game against a full terminator army this weekend. I posted earlier looking for help countering it (it was a full fledged melee focus army tailored to stats check BT units), but decided to go with my original Gladius Task Force.
The game went surprisingly well for me, partially because it was really easy for me to outscore the opponent using a larger number of more flexible units. That might has impacted the opponent’s mental (we are both newbies)
My entire army was able to position in a way so that most of his tele homers cannot be used. His 10-man shield assault terminators have been slow on advance despite command rerolls, and his regular 5-man terminators were getting thinned down by my impulsor and redemptor dread.
The climax of the battle was turn 3 when his 5-man terminator squad charged my crusader squad. 7 crusader died due to his liberator assault group detachment rule, but luckily I was not battle shocked and used the “only in death does duty end” CP to enable the full squad to fight back. 4 terminators died.
He gambled and narrowly deep striked the 5-man double claw assault terminators into my back. He needed a dice of 10 to charge my impulsor (with Marshall + sword bro onboard) but failed the charge.
Into my turn, it was a massacre. I charged everything in my base into his face and wiped out the assault terminators. At the same time, my scout secured his base. At this point it was pretty meaningless to continue considering the huge point difference. I asked him if he wanted to continue and at least charge his 10-man brick into my redemptor, he said it’s ok to just end.
I’m a real newbie and it was a super exciting game for me. I look forward to learn more and eventually be able to play 2000-point games. What also made me happy was that random customers in the store keeps taking photos of my models and complimented them. It was truly rewarding!
Adding some thick chains and other spices to my LR and dread. Armageddon flavors 😋
