West syndrome
My son (14 months) has west syndrome. it was pretty bad at first, he was first on keppra and then we added vigabatrin back in january. hes had 3 focal seizures in february (not sure where those came from), we increased his vigabatrin dose and they stopped completely. His EEGs have been looking better and better, so his doctor started him on valproate (1ml to 3ml over 6 weeks) and we are at week 6. Over the last 3 weeks, we noticed he pretty much stopped sleeping properly. He goes to bed very late, he wakes up after 45 minutes again. We had 2 nights where he didnt sleep at all. Last night, he woke up every hour until 4 am when he finally fell asleep properly. He pretty much has been sleeping since. He woke up at 9, had his meds and a bottle and went back to sleep at 10.30. At 2 he woke up again, same thing, had a bottle and slept for another hour. He was awake for like 1,5-2h and now hes down again. He doesnt want to eat, he only wants bottles and I‘m not sure if I should worry as much as I am or not. Has anybody experienced something similar to this?
