Hi everyone,

I’m currently applying for a J-1 visa and while filling out my DS-160 form, I realized there was an error in a previous DS-160 I submitted for a B1/B2 visa.

In that earlier form, I mistakenly answered “Yes” to being a permanent resident of another country (not my country of origin). In reality, I’m not a permanent resident,I only hold a long-term visa for that country (valid for 10 years).

I’m concerned about how to address or correct this mistake now, and whether it could negatively affect my current J-1 visa application or interview.

Has anyone been in a similar situation, or does anyone know the best way to handle this? Any guidance would be really appreciated.
