I am playing survival and loving it. Totally new game. Anyways I’ve been avoiding all crimes so as to not burn any bridges etc.

However I made it to the Washington monument and saw a container with around 20 rounds of 50 cal and I was just too tempted (just recently converted my hunting rifle to 50 cal and ammo has been sparse). I waited until I was hidden and took it like a bad boy. Well I guess I wasn’t fully hidden because slowly the entire camp got hostile to me. I ran away because I hadn’t saved in a while and didn’t want to lose progress. Haven’t been back yet to see if they forgot about it but I am really hoping they did because I don’t like making more enemies and don’t want to lock myself out of any quests.

So how does thievery work in this game? Any hope for a peaceful solution to this? Will time heal this wound? Or do I need to go back and clear out the whole camp? Will I make even more enemies? Thanks for the help, fellow survivalists!

So I hadn’t played this game for about 8 years then finally got back into it with my first real survival run and am LOVING it. Doing a stealthy explosives and ballistic weapons build focused on upgrading equipment. Currently level 26ish. Have yet to walk into diamond city.

Anyways I was clearing a tower of super mutants to save this Shakespeare guy and I heartbreakingly die on the last enemy at the top before freeing him and his super mutant friend. Anyways my jaw was still on the ground imagining all the progress I had lost when lo and behold there was an auto save that triggered right before I got on the elevator to get to the top level of the tower. I was baffled but grateful.

Has this happened to anyone else, either here or elsewhere? There was no bed anywhere near me when I awaken from death. I even used the save point two more times dying to the same tricked out super mutant. Finally got him and finished that quest thanks to this save!
