Hi everyone,
I’m planning a trip to Tokyo starting around May 25, and while trying to book hotels, I noticed that a lot of properties are already sold out and many of the remaining options seem significantly more expensive than expected.
Is this considered a peak travel period in Tokyo/Japan? Are there any holidays, events around that week that could be causing this?
I’m mainly looking for hotels in areas like Shinjuku, Shibuya, Ginza, and near Tokyo Station. Even business hotels seem unusually pricey compared to what I was seeing earlier.
Even many hotels of MIMARU chain is sold out.
Would also appreciate to know whether prices are likely to drop closer to the date ?
Thanks.
