Hi there! I'm currently in my 2nd week of recovery. I had a follow up with my surgeon who said despite what the recovery instructions said, that I should not eat solid foods (including rice, mash, pasta, meat, etc) until instructed otherwise. The only thing I'm worried about is that I'm losing weight. I was already quite skinny when I went in for surgery but now its getting to an alarming point. Is that normal?? I'm trusting my surgeon, especially because with the bands in my mouth I can't eat solid foods even if I wanted to, but how should I try and keep the weight on??

This is sort of just a rant, I don't know if anyone else experiences this post djs. I'm having difficulty sleeping right now because my teeth are just clenched together really tightly, probably because of the swelling or the bands or something. But since my jaw surgery, my teeth are like aligned properly for the first time in my entire life. I'm not used to having my teeth touching 24/7, it's kinda painful. Is that normal?
I'm really hesitant to try a different like lower jaw position because that feels like reverting to the issues I had before.. but it's so uncomfortable to sleep right now. Will I always feel like way since my teeth can now touch, im assuming this will go away..
Update: I am in so much discomfort. My entire face is tight. It feels like all the movement progress I'd made is gone (ik that's not true but still). Unfortunately throughout the week the people taking care of me mishandled 3 of my pain pills so I'm 3 short and can't get a new prescription until later. Additionally the other pain medications don't dissolve well in water and can't fit in my mouth at the moment. This is gonna be a rough night.
