There is a serious issue with the organizational culture of Bengalis Unite that needs to be addressed. While it’s technically a campus-wide cultural club, the current leadership is running it like a private, exclusionary social circle. It is incredibly discouraging to feel judged and unwelcome just for trying to participate in my own cultural community. They act friendly to your face, but the reality is an environment where you are met with hostile "looks" and mocked behind your back if you aren't part of their specific inner circle.

Beyond the social atmosphere, their professional conduct is inconsistent with university standards. Blocking students on social media and restricting participation in events without any communication or justification is not how a student-funded organization should operate. A club centered on "unity" should not be used as a tool for gatekeeping and social exclusion. Prospective members should be aware that the current management prioritizes their own friend group over providing a genuine community for the broader student body.
