i am struggling with learning jazz noodles

i have been playing guitar for a long time and can do endless noodles on any pop/rock/blues/metal chord progression but i am seriously struggling with the jazz side of things.

i have learned some songs (i.e. all the things you are, misty, summertime, all of me). i know how to play the chord rhytms, the singers melody and the chord melodies to these songs but i am massively struggling to just noodle over them. i have learned the major, minor and dominant arpeggios and i the scales.

any good book recommendation or maybe even a youtube channel where it is all just about noodling? i feel like i am missing a starting point

hope the text makes sense. english is not my first language sorry if it doesnt

In all the guitars I ever had I always put the tone potenciometera to the most "bright " and never touch them again. Am I missing something? I am too scared to try what might happen. Please tell me what is acceptable in the hive mind?
