Hello everyone, I (24 M) am looking for some career advice about my current career situation. I’m living in Indianapolis, Indiana, and I have been looking for jobs with more of a focus on internships because I know how important they are in corporate and business degrees. Speaking of which I am attending university online at Western Governors University for a degree in Finance and I am expecting to graduate in January. I’m working full time at Kroger as well, and I have an associates degree for Cloud Computing from Ivy Tech Community College when I graduate high school. I’m changing careers from information technology to Finance, as I worked in IT for a few years, but I just didn’t really care for it, and it was starting to get hard to find another job in, as I wasn’t finding much career growth with where I was working at the time. My wife works as a nurse and I supported her through college and now she makes enough for the both of us, allowing me to focus more on school and trying to find an internship or job. This brings me to my main Problem, I have been looking for careers and internships through WGU as well as through LinkedIn and just google. At this point I feel like I have applied to all of the internships I can find in Indianapolis and I have somewhat pivoting to remote internships. My wife has also expressed interest in travel nursing and has been trying to convince me to buy and truck and camper and quit my job and go around with her while I focus on online school. I don’t really know if that’s the right decision for my career, but I also feel like I am having trouble getting my career started anyways and I don’t really know what I am doing wrong. I have leadership experience from jobs a grocery stores when I was younger, even now at Kroger. I also have very high computer literacy as I have worked in IT, and I have worked with Microsoft Word and Excel for many years! At this point I just feel lost and wondering if what I am doing is the right move. Am I making the wrong connections? Do I just need to be more vigilant and patient? Is WGU just a horrible college and I wasting my time and money? I really just need career advice and guidance as I really don’t know what I can do better.

Thank you all and please be honest, I just want to make a change to finance and do what’s best for my career and chances of starting a new career.
