Pruning strategy / suckers?
Hello! We moved into a house with a beautiful mature perennial garden last fall (zone 3b) and I’m trying to learn how to keep it thriving.
One thing is that the previous owners planted two rose shrubs on either side of a row of chokeberry bushes. Neither have been pruned in awhile so I’m trying to come up with a plan.
First thing I noticed - the one on the right (first pic) seems to be two now. I don’t think they planted two separate shrubs… maybe they did? Or did one maybe develop from a sucker? Would love this sub’s thoughts. Pic of the left bush on the opposite side for reference!
