What's a long running series you joined before a major event that made you go "wow i lucked out, people have been waiting for this moment FOR YEARS"

After becoming a fan of resident evil, after 2 remake as a teenager, and finally fighting hunk in 9,

it hit me like a brick when a friend of mine told me his dad was so fucking excited to fight hunk, like actual tears of joy because he said he's always wanted to see leon fight hunk ever since he played RE2
