CAREER SWITCH - Finance/Accounting (ACCA) to Tech (DATA) - 25M

I am currently an ACCA student with 6 out of 13 exams completed, having chosen this path after my intermediate education due to its flexibility and not requiring traditional university attendance. However, after facing multiple exam setbacks, I no longer feel motivated to continue pursuing this qualification and am now considering a career change. As I have not yet entered the workforce, I believe this may be the right time to explore alternative paths. Additionally, due to my financial situation, I am hesitant to seek further financial support from my parents to continue my education. I feel its never too late to switch, even at 25 years of age.

Beyond ACCA, my primary interests lie in Business and Data Analytics, particularly due to the growing emphasis on data-driven decision-making and the increasing influence of artificial intelligence in business. Over time, I have developed a keen interest in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), which focuses on analytical thinking and data interpretation rather than traditional accounting tasks like reporting or auditing. I have recently been awarded a Coursera scholarship to begin learning data analytics, and I would greatly appreciate guidance on how to effectively start and structure my learning path in this field.

Over the past year, despite consistently improving my CV and actively seeking employment, I have been unable to secure a suitable opportunity, which has affected my confidence in building a career through ACCA. While there are many celebrated success stories of ACCA and CA professionals, these represent only a small fraction, and many students, including myself, struggle to find meaningful roles. The job market is highly saturated, and even candidates who have completed all 13 ACCA exams are often offered salaries of only 20,000–25,000 (75-100$ per month), which feels discouraging given the significant effort required to achieve the qualification.

Very important, I am an average student but learn things by doing practically. I would greatly appreciate any guidance or support on starting a career in the data analytics field, as such advice would be extremely valuable to me, I’ll be forever in your debt.

Additionally, I'm from a pre-engineering background, plus I
enrolled in BBA this January, as a degree is needed abroad for the sake of
employment in the future. For my BBA, I don't have to attend university, and
all I need to do is to appear in the exam, that's it. So yeah, I don't have to
give it a time.
