MMORPG MC

Hey,

I’ve been messing around with a small Minecraft Server project for fun, trying to make it feel more like a light MMORPG rather than standard survival.

Some of the things I’m experimenting with right now:

Mobs have levels

Loot doesn’t just drop on the ground anymore – it goes into a chest after the fight

Items have different rarities and random stats (damage, crit, attack speed, etc.)

Every item feels a bit unique instead of just being standard drops

It’s still very much a work in progress and I’m testing a lot of ideas as I go.

What do you think?

MMORPG Minecraft idea? What you think about it?

Hey,

I’ve been working on a small Minecraft project where I’m trying to move away from normal survival and make it feel more like a lightweight MMORPG.

One of the main things I’m experimenting with right now is the loot system.

Instead of mobs just dropping random items on the ground, everything goes into a chest you can open after the fight. Inside that, you can get gear with different rarities and randomized stats.

For example (like in the screenshot):

- items have levels and requirements

- different rarities (like Epic, etc.)

- multiple affixes

- randomized stats like damage ranges, attack speed, crit chance, bonus XP, etc.

- overall quality that affects how good the roll is

So even if you drop the same weapon twice, it can have completely different stats.

The idea is to make drops feel more meaningful and give that “maybe this one is better” feeling instead of just picking up trash loot.

I’m still testing a lot and balancing things, so it’s definitely not finished yet.

Curious what you think:

Would something like this make Minecraft more fun long-term, or does it overcomplicate it?
