Confused about buying a mattress in Bangalore - need suggestions (newly married, first home setup)

This is my first Reddit post, so hello everyone 👋🙂

I recently moved to Bangalore after getting married, and we’re setting up our first home together. One thing we’re surprisingly confused about is choosing a good mattress 😅

There are so many brands, materials, and “orthopedic” claims online that it’s getting hard to figure out what actually matters in real-life use.

We’d really appreciate suggestions from people who’ve personally used mattresses in Indian/Bangalore conditions for a few years.

What we’re looking for:
-> A good mattress for a couple (average weight)

-> Medium comfort level - not too soft, not too hard

-> Good support without that “sinking in” feeling

-> Should hold shape well and not sag easily after some years

-> Comfortable for daily long-term use

-> We don’t have any back issues currently

A few things we’re confused about:
Which brands are actually reliable? (Wakefit, Flo, Sleepycat, Duroflex, Kurlon, etc.)

  1. Is 7–8 inch thickness enough, or is 10–12 inch worth it?

  2. Which material/model - what has worked best long term?

Budget is mid-range — ideally around ₹17k, but open to spending a bit more if the durability and comfort are genuinely worth it.

Would love to hear:
- Which mattress you bought

- How long you’ve been using it

- Whether it started sagging or became too soft over time

- Any brands/models you’d avoid as well

Thanks a lot in advance 🙌
