So my Fedora kept crashing and locking up completely after about 24 hours of uptime. Turns out, this ancient WD Green (secondary storage) was literally holding my entire SATA controller hostage.
Look at these stats LMAO:
82,948 power-on hours (thats literally 9.46 YEARS of non-stop spinning btw)
577,919 UDMA CRC Errors (Motherboard and drive have been violently arguing through a busted SATA cable for god knows how long)
168 Current pending sectorts (the platters are turning to dust as we speak XD)
i literally had to lobotimze the drive at the hardware level with
echo 1 | sudo tee /sys/block/sdb/device/delete
just to force LInux to stop polling the dead sectors until i can physically amputate it from the case tomorrow
RIP, he served for so long
