Hi everyone,

I’m looking for advice on compatible RAM for my HP Victus 16 (16-r0xxx).

Current setup:

• Samsung 8GB DDR5 SODIMM 4800MHZ CL40 1.1V

Unfortunately, my other 8GB stick (same specs) is already broken, so I need to buy a replacement.

My questions:

1. Do I need to buy the exact same Samsung model (M425R1GB4BB0-CQK0L)?
2. Will other brands like Kingston, Crucial, or Hynix work as long as specs match (DDR5, 4800MHz, CL40)?
3. Is mixing brands safe on this laptop, or is it picky?
4. Has anyone here successfully upgraded RAM on this exact model?

I’m planning to go back to 16GB total (2x8GB dual-channel) since my laptop can only support up to 16GB.

Would really appreciate recommendations or exact models that worked for you 🙏
