I am a master student studying urban planning and have been offered a job to work as a college aide for new york city transportation department. They wanted me to start immediately but I negotiated a 2 week start time.

I am currently in a job which they hired me for a specific event on june 11th that if I take the college aide position I will not be able to help them with since I would start may 11th. Im wondering how to take the position without burning bridges? Or curious of what you all would do?
