You can see over the different campaigns that hyper, aggressive fun basically dug its own grave. Large aggressive creatures like red lizards we’re far too territorial to coexist with each other, and basically fought each other until they wiped out the majority of their species within the facility ground and with them being so separated from each other, they we’re basically left alone to starve. Similar probably happened with king and miros vultures as they were just too competitive for the finite food. Shocking how the only place that Miros vultures were able to survive was bitter airy with basically no competition for food outside of each other and a plentiful amount of blue lizards and scavengers. You can see the real environmental shift as further down this timeline. Large individual creatures fall out of fashion, unable to keep up with the passage of time and get replaced by communal organisms. You could even say the iterators in a way fall into this quickly, becoming further relics of a Bagon age, while smaller, intelligent beings like scavengers and slug cats start developing the basics of civilization. Finally enough, I think the only hard mode to spawn that didn’t die to the competition was cyan lizards, and they all died out because they’re stupid wildly jumping until eventually they just fall and kill themselves.

Canalis Catus more commonly known as the slug cat is a rodent like bipedal mammal around 3 feet tall weighing around 20 pounds originating from the tropical environments of the outer expanse. The species comes in a variety of fur colors, spanning the color spectrum. The fur of this creature is seemingly similar to that of an otter or beaver, near constantly wet and slicked down. These creatures were natural omnivores, feeding on primarily plants and insects as well, as the occasional carrion for mature adult adults. These creatures seemingly possessed the unique trait to dislocate all of their bones allow allowing them to squeeze through tiny gaps within pipes. These creatures are also quite dexterous, able to make use of tools and easily lift their body weight. These creatures are quite communal, living in massive colonies broken up into smaller family units. Their intelligence is seemingly comparable to that of the primitive ape like scavenger if not slightly higher.

There are two confirmed, natural subspecies of the slug cat.

Canalis Catus Primus-a notably, more violent subspecies known for their significant physical strength in hyper carnivorous diet. This subspecies seemingly lived more solitary lifestyles in smaller family units compared to large colonies of the standard slug cat. The sub species is currently believed to have gone extinct, but seemingly thrived in the far past during a more competitive era.

Canalis Catus Passivus- this sub, species or originating from the far future has adapted to a significantly colder climate developing thick fur and snow goggle like eyes. They also have seemingly adapted a long, flexible, tongue, strong enough to pull their body weight. This sub species is notably, fully herbivorous unable to properly process meat or insects and are near fully reliant on plant life. These creatures also seemingly lack a large amount of muscle mass as there tongues have made up for many of the roles that their hands once did. Their family behavior is currently unknown along with their population status.
