I have a question regarding the allotment of Bose Hostel for M.Tech students. How is the hostel overall compared to 1.8K ?

Also, are there any specific floors or room numbers that are considered better? I’ve been allotted a room, but it feels quite small, so I’m thinking of trying for a room change.

Any juniors or seniors who have stayed there could you share your experience or any tips regarding better rooms/floors and the room change process?

I completed my B.Tech in Biotechnology from a private college and my M.Tech in Biotechnology from an NIT. However, I’m facing serious concerns regarding my career growth. Even after an M.Tech, the entry-level salary packages in this field are quite low—around 5 LPA—and the growth seems very slow.

Additionally, the biotechnology ecosystem in India does not appear to be as strong or well-funded, particularly in terms of research and development, when compared to the CS/IT sector. This has made me question my career choices, and I’m starting to feel like I may have made a mistake by choosing this field.

Most of my friends from computer science backgrounds are doing very well professionally, and many of them are suggesting that I switch to data science.

I’m feeling quite confused and uncertain about what to do next. I would really appreciate serious advice on whether transitioning to data science is the right decision and how I should approach it.

I am seeing Phd fellows also they are burnt-out becoz of toxic sourrounding, politics and behavior of guides also talked to many people personally regarding should i persue phd or not, is it a wastage of time or not!

They said go for job first then after working for few year persue phd becoz of market situation !

Any serious adivse will be helpfull for me specially people who are working it data science field!

Peaceout !
