I am a gardening newbie. I know the basics of planting and maintaining but no experience starting from scratch or designing beds. Our garden beds are overrun by multiplying oriental lilies. They’re beautiful but we would like some variety in this bed. Tips on tilling- only thing worth preserving here is a small peony. And tips on what you would grow in this lower bed! South western New Hampshire. Bed faces south in zone 6a.
