I’m 25 and I have been working in health care since I was 22. I am currently working as a mental health counselor at a psych hospital. I received my bachelor’s in psychology and a minor in sociology. I am honestly tired of health care and working in the system. I have been so drained and my empathy has ran dry. I thought about becoming a PA or nurse but I continue to truly question if that is my choice or are the people around me just influencing my decision . I think I do great in this field and I have good days but, overall I think this field will take my soul.

I have been looking into health law, corporate, litigation, and being a paralegal in those areas. There seems to still be client contact which I don’t mind. I honestly want a lower stim job. I know this field is also hectic and busy but I have handled that well. I think the abuse from patients and management has also been pushing me away. Has anyone experienced making the change from having a heavier healthcare background into law? I feel like “I’m too late” but I am thinking about getting a paralegal certificate and getting experience as a legal assistant! I also am financially independent so I need to do things wisely.
