hello, I am a newer nanny, only been doing this for about a year and a half now, and am just curious on how old some of you were when you started!
I am 21 (almost 22) and always get comments on how young I am to be a nanny for multiple children, but I have worked with kids my whole life, and professionally for 8 years now. I have always loved working with children and felt that my purpose was to do this and eventually be a mom.
i do have a lot of experience for my age and I do have a baby face so I have grown accustomed to the shock when people find this out about me. I have been belittled a few times to my age and “lack of life experience” it is a bit insulting tbh. especially because I always go above and beyond to educate myself for my job and get extra certifications in my free time. Just wondering how old some of you are, how long you’ve been doing this job, and if any of you have ever been in the same boat as I am.
Was also curious if NP would be deterred by a nanny who is my age. I am currently employed, but have been told that my age would be a shock/ con for any future employers. TIA for any and all responses
