I had my egg retrieval today and I’m really struggling emotionally with how it went.
I’m 32, first IVF cycle, with low AMH (8.4 pmol/L / ~1.17–1.18 ng/mL). We were originally told to expect around 10 follicles, but during monitoring we were only seeing about 5, and today we retrieved 4 eggs. We used ICSI, and there are no known sperm issues.
I think what’s hitting me the hardest is the gap between what we hoped for and where we ended up. We started IVF hoping to have enough embryos for two children, and now I’m just sitting here hoping we even get one chance.
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who had similar numbers (low AMH / 4 eggs retrieved):
How many fertilized with ICSI?
How many made it to blast?
If you did PGT-A, how many were euploid?
Did it lead to a transfer or success?
I know outcomes vary, but I’m finding the waiting really hard tonight and would really value hearing real experiences.
