I’m 30. About 5 years ago I got a CT scan for unrelated issue. They found that I had 2 lesions in my right breast. Got an ultrasound. One was biopsied, which was a fibroadenoma. We followed up with ultra sounds every 6 months until they said it was fine to stop. Last ultrasound was 3 years ago. Recently found one of the known lumps to be bigger and kinda hard, sometimes painful with pressure or bumped. Can ache randomly too but not concerning to me. PC set up at diagnostic mammogram on one breast. They said that I have very dense breasts, so they marked it as BIRADS 0. Got an ultrasound a few weeks later. The two lesions grew a cm or two compared to the ultrasound from 3 years ago. There were also two new ones. They marked their findings as a BIRADS 3 and recommended 6months follow up. My primary care reviewed the results and told me that I should see a breast surgeon for a consult. I said it didn’t bother me that much so I didn’t want the appointment, because I didn’t think it is worth getting removed. Should I be taking this more seriously? I did have the nexplanon BC inserted in my arm about a year ago, so I thought that maybe that was why there was growth. But maybe not? After doing some more research I had no clue that the breast surgeon consult might be more of a diagnostic thing with their recommendations and not complete removal if not necessary. Not sure what to think.
