I just started playing on chess dot com and I can easily defeat the bots and coaches on level 600, but against real people I almost always lose to people with less than 400 elo.

Is the chess elo system similar to video game elo where the lowest level is actually much harder than the higher levels, or are the bots just mislabeled? What elo level bot is similar to a 400 elo player?
