Hey everyone,
I need an A* in Edexcel Maths this year and could really use some advice from people who’ve done it/are scoring in the high 90s.
Right now I’ve done pretty much all the past papers, and I’m consistently scoring around 85–89%. I know that’s solid, but with grade boundaries likely creeping up, I feel like I need to be hitting 95% to feel safe.
My issue isn’t big gaps in content anymore, it’s more:
- Silly mistakes / dropping easy marks
- Occasionally getting stuck on the last few harder questions
- Timing pressure in some papers, but I do manage to finish all the questions
For those of you who managed to break into that 95%+ range:
- What actually made the difference for you?
- How did you reduce careless errors?
- Are there specific resources or techniques that helped at that level?
- How do you revise when you’ve already done most/all past papers?
At this point I feel like I’m close, but not quite there, and I’m not sure what to change to make that final jump.
Any advice would really help 🙏. Thank you very much
