Cracked bed paneling

A follow up to my post yesterday about spot weld failure. Found that the mounts for my bed had only been clamped to the outer bed panel. In the rear of the rail area (underneath), where you would think is the best spot for the clamps, there is a large cut out from the inner bed panel. Because of this all the force from my rack was placed on the outer panel. It ended up stress fracturing right at the spot weld, and so the rack was physically lifting the entire panel up when it bounced.

Long-term I'm going to get the rack off and get this welded, but I've got a 15-day camping trip I'm leaving on so I resorted to the short-term fix.

Enjoy my at home repair!!

Spot weld failure on bed?

Was off roading today and noticed a lot of metal clanging from my rack. Thinking something was loose, I went back there checked all my racks and awnings and found nothing. Pushing up on the left side, the upper rail of the bed seems to be separated.

Hard to see in the video but the clamp for the rack sits right where there's a hole in the inner wall. So the clamp is only attached to the top of the bed I would assume.

For now I'm going to move the clamp a long-term I may go in there and try to find a more permanent solution for the bed separation
