Hey everyone,
I recently got accepted into the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities and I’m starting in Fall 2026. I’ll be coming in as a transfer student after finishing my sophomore year at another 4-year school.
I just wanted to hear from other transfer students especially those who transferred into Carlson or UMN in general.
- How was the transfer experience overall?
- Was the transition smooth academically and socially?
- How easy (or hard) was it to make friends?
- For commuters, how is student life if you’re not living in dorms? Is it harder to meet people?
- and how the classes were because I’m told I have to stay there and graduate in 2029 spring when my original grad date is may 2028.
I’ll be commuting and I’m a little concerned about the social side, so I’d really appreciate any honest experiences or advice. I’m 20 so idk if I’ll be hard.
Thanks!
