having a lazy day and speed ran the season. season 1 was good but felt kinda draggy in the end, but wow i have been hooked on this one. it’s very white lotus-esque and imo much more interesting. surprised it’s not been discussed yet here

from the ex you share custody with saying they look forward to continuing to support your kids education, even though week after week the kids have missing homework each week that they're with them, to the company caught dumping toxic waste making a statement “affirming their commitment to working to better the environment”, to the tech companies saying shit like they wish they got their faster re: not allowing child groomers to contact children on their platforms (after a decade of knowing it’s a problem and doing their opposite of nothing in the wrong direction).

the inability to take responsibility or admit fault, the need to lie to posture against any guilt, the doublespeak it’s just so so so irritating. I know practically why they do it - so they don’t get litigated out of whatever position they’re in, but omfg it’s frustrating

Beelzebub’s Butterscotch (2026): Caught up in the fever-pitched resurgence of soda fountains in suburban Salt Lake City in the mid-2020s, young Mormon Bartholemew Brook makes a shocking discovery about the flavoring behind his favorite fizzy fix, and uncovers a scandal that could rock the Church from top to bottom. PG-13, 85 minutes.

just riffing, I used to write these and send them to my brother but all my old ones are texts long gone.

I really wanted to write this next one out as a movie script but never invested the time and the zeitgeist has moved on.

Casual Encounters (2014): Tina Faye and Seth Rogen star in this sordid You’ve Got Mail gone wrong; united by an online classifieds page while looking to step out of their respective marriages, a man and woman witness a serious crime they can’t ignore on their first attempt at a clandestine romantic rendezvous, and find themselves embroiled in a series of escalating misfortunes while attempting to notify the authorities without revealing how or why they witnessed the crime in the first place.
