Looking for the ultimate 18650 "All-rounder"
Hey everyone, I am looking for flashlight recommendations and would love some input from people who actually know their stuff.
My use cases:
- Dual-Vehicle Mount: Swapping between an electric scooter and a bicycle (need good road illumination and reliability under vibration).
- Outdoor & Work: Camping, long forest trails/night walks, and sometimes using it as a professional work light.
- General EDC: Daily carry (not always) and utility.
My requirements:
- Battery: Prefferably 18650. I own about 10 high-quality cells, so I’m happy to swap them out on long trips. Runtime isn't a concern because I always have spares ready to go.
- Mount Compatibility: Ideally, it should fit my Videx VLF-ABH-287 (accepts 20–28mm body diameter). However, if there is a "must-have" light that requires a different mounting solution, I'm open to suggestions for new mounts or alternative setups.
- Beam Profile: I'm open. It doesn't have to be a pure flooder or a pure thrower—I’m looking for the "best of the best" balance, or just a beam that you consider superior for mixed use.
- Budget: $80–$150+. Price is not a concern as long as the quality/performance justifies it.
What I've considered: I've been looking at the Acebeam P16 2.0, but I’m worried it leans too heavily toward throw for close-range city riding. I also checked out the Acebeam E70 / E70 Mini, which caught my eye. I really wanted to buy the AceBeam X20-R but it's not an ideal light for bike/scooter rides 😞
I want something that feels premium, can handle long walks/work sessions, and performs like a beast. Open to anything—Emisar, Zebralight, Acebeam, Convoy, etc.
What is your "endgame" recommendation for this setup?
