My GRC has been granted!!

Very happy today! After only 16 weeks, I got an email to say that my application for my GRC has been granted. So much quicker than expected, I wasn't expecting a response until July or August!

They did however spell my name wrong in the attachment informing me of the decision 🙄 I've emailed & called so this should hopefully be sorted before the certificate gets sent out.

Why does Leeds GIC need a copy of a payslip?

I had my first appointment with Leeds GIC yesterday and at the end the nurse asked me to send over my private diagnosis, letters from my private endocrinologist, passport and either a payslip or bank statement...

Why is a payslip or bank statement needed. This seems so bizarre to me?? The only thing I can think of is proof of address but that still seems weird when I could just send my driving licence.

Do I need to take anything to my first GIS appointment?

I have my first appointment with Leeds GIS tomorrow. I have already been diagnosed with Gender Dysphoria and I started HRT in October, both privately.

Do I need to take evidence of any of this?

Are there any other things that I should be taking?

Before I started my job 2 years ago, I accidentally outed myself as trans. When I started supervisors and higher management had had made it clear to all staff on my site that any sort of discrimination wouldn't be tolerated. This was made a lot easier since I had a friend from another job who had become a supervisor on this site at the same time as me. But I always thought that I would have to see it to believe it.

For the first year everything was fine, I would probably go as far as to say everything was perfect, I couldn't have been happier about how respectful everyone one. But after this I started to have some issues for most of the second year regarding Sexual Harassment and Sexual Assault from someone who I had known, and works with for years (since 2022).

Despite the issues occurring between March - November 2025, this was only reported in February this year, thanks to HRT for causing unbearable emotions and stress, and being amplified due to that trauma.

When I reported this, I honestly couldn't be happier with the way it was handled. The investigation took longer than expected, almost 2 months, but I was happy with the outcome and even happier with the support they are giving me.

I had a consultation with my companies occupational health service regarding how HRT is affecting me and my ability to do work and from that, they have put adjustments in place to make my working life significantly easier.

I always hear about people's difficulties at work regarding being trans but I just wanted to share something positive :)

I changed my name via deed poll over 2 years ago and my parents have never used my new name. My mum was annoyed because "she named name" and my dad has said quite a few times there he's not comfortable with me being trans.

Whenever someone called me a she, or says daughter, my dad will respond with "I don't have a daughter".

I have been on HRT for 6 months and have only just told my mum on Tuesday but hadn't yet told my dad yet because of what has been said in the past. My mum and dad were drunk tonight and talked about it and my mum told me that my dad was upset and annoyed that I hadn't told him ( I was planning on doing it).

I feel like I am being made to feel awful about the situation like it's my fault. But this was a situation caused by themselves

I am going on holiday to Turkey in June and I'm concerned that the temperature will cause issues with the patches.

I know that you shouldn't put them in the fridge because the temperature is too low and can also cause issues l.

Can anyone give advice?
