So I wanted to get some bronde highlights (I have decently dark brunette hair, fine and wavy texture) and booked an appointment with a good hair salon in my area and it was good and bad! The stylist took a test strand and put bleach on it and after 10 minutes it turned to rubber bands 😭 ultimately she said I should wait to color my hair until it is in a healthier state. She said it’s so dry and brittle (I do live in colorado). I RARELY use heat, I put oil on my ends a few times a week, use an amkia night mask the nights before wash day and use a Kristin ess clarifying wash every 2 weeks, sleep on silk pillowcases and put my hair in a protective braid for bedtime. I feel like I do a lot to keep my hair in good shape for it to actually be in bad shape apparently 😭

Anyways she suggested a BUNCH of oribe products and she gave me a cut and deep condition. My hair feels great from everything she did but how do I maintain this?

She said I should get the oribe gold lust repair and restore shampoo/conditioner. Get a hair oil (either oribe gold lust or redken). And she REALLY was saying that the Oribe restorative night crème would like fix my breakage and I’d have hair healthy enough to color a few months from now. But I keep seeing the K18 leave in repair mask all over this sub. Are these good suggestions on her part? Oribe is so pricey but if it makes my hair silky and healthy I’ll do it… but curious about the comparison of these two products specifically (Oribe night creme and k18 leave in)! HEEEEEELP
