Old person speeding and tailgating

I feel very shocked as I always assumed the speed demons and tail gaters are young men, but the other day on my way into work on my commute I had an old man,70-80s, fly up behind me on a residential road with 35 mph speed limit. He tail gated me the whole way as I’m going 5 over, 40 mph, so I wasn’t driving slow. While he’s tail gating me he’s swerving across the double yellow on the bends we hit bc he couldn’t control the speed he wanted to go. Then as I make my turn off the road bc I finally had a place to turn off so he could get off my ass, he clapped as I turned. At first I laughed bc obviously I’m doing everything right and he’s the selfish dumbass, but it honestly concerned me a lot seeing someone that age drive like that. Either way people shouldn’t drive recklessly and speed, but really at that age you’re this aggressive? I hate the idea of forcing old people to stay at home, but how are you going to tail gate me and swerve at that age and then clap as I turn off as if I did anything wrong? I think I now agree with the re testing after a certain age, because after that I’ve noticed a lot more that the people who have been speeding and reckless with lane changes are old men at a grandpa age. This made me feel so unsafe. Had no idea it was this crazy. Let alone clapping and cursing me out as he passed at a geriatric age as if he wasn’t swerving the whole time because he’s not as good behind the wheel as he thinks he is. Just wtf. The next time you see reckless driving, check to see who the person is, once I started noticing it’s a lot more old men at a grandpa age, I’m floored.

One more tid bit too I forgot, this same commute a week prior, had an old guy in a truck try to blow a stop sign turning onto this same road. I lay it on my horn so he doesn’t hit me, and he flips me off. Red in the face yelling like he wants to kill people. As if this man didn’t have a bright red stop sign? He was going to fly onto the road where people go 35-40 without even looking? I had to touch grass after this last month driving in nj bc genuinely wtf
