10 month old daughter has diarrhea and i got medication a week ago after searching far and wide for a hospital that was open AND would take children. Finally we got a prescription but it was very weak and only for five days. Diarrhea still has t cleared up and now both the hospitals, my regular one, and the emergency one i went to a week ago, are both closed for Golden Week. I am surprised, what is one to do for medical care when golden week last more than a week?

edit*
a lot of people mentioning the hotline 8000 but is there support in english? i know i should speak the language of the country i am living but learning is slow going and a phone call in japanese is impossible for me right now at my level of ability

Update* I can not respond to everyone as I am a single mother with a child who is sick at the moment, but just want to say thanks to everyone’s responses, I was able to find a place open and get her more medicine for her condition. I have also learned a lot about how the system works around holidays and in emergencies. A lot of my problems stem from not knowing the language and i take responsibility for that. This post wasn’t a complaint about the system, more of just a huge lack of understanding of it and inability to access the resources around me, so thanks to those of you who showed up to help with minimal judgement. I appreciate it!
