Hi everyone, looking for a quick sanity check on upcoming travel for my spouse and kids.
The Situation:
• H4 Spouse: Has a valid H4 visa stamp in her expired passport until May 25, 2026. However, that stamp has my old employer's name on it.
• New Status: I recently switched jobs. We both have new I-797 approval notices valid until December 30, 2028 and passport has been renewed.
• Kids: Traveling with two children—one Canadian citizen (3) and one US citizen (8).
• Timeline: Traveling to India next week and returning May 20, 2025.

The Questions:

Is it risky to enter using the old employer's H4 stamp if it hasn't expired yet?
Are there specific issues at immigration to watch out for, especially with a Canadian and a US citizen child in tow?
Will the H4 EAD be affected by this travel?
Any recent experiences with CBP at major hubs (specifically Texas) would be greatly appreciated!
