ZazaMastro's Windows plugins update
Hi people!
First of all, I want to thank you very much for the affection you have shown me and for your appreciation of my work here on Reddit and on Discord. I'm really happy that so many people are interested in having a console experience on PC with Steam and Playhub plugins.
So let's cut the chatter (or "bando alle ciance" like we say in Italy) and let's dive into the updates of the Playhub plugins.
Playhub Gaming Mode
https://github.com/ZazaMastro/Playhub-Gaming-Mode/releases/tag/v1.0
Your new gaming console is your PC.
Discreet, customizable, clean. How a true console gaming experience should be.
What's changed:
- Added startup logo for the Gaming Mode splash screen that stays visible until Steam Big Picture is fullscreen (in the same style of Launch Curtain, as you will see below).
- Added some logo presets that can be chosen in GamingMode.exe: Playhub (default), ASUS, Lenovo, MSI, PlayStation, ROG, Steam Deck, SteamOS, and Xbox.
- Added custom Gaming Mode startup apps for tools like Afterburner, AutoActions, and similar utilities like requested from the community.
- Added an even better borderless fullscreen handling for loading windows and foreground apps in Gaming Mode.
- Added default compatibility for ThemeDeck helper tools:
yt-dlp,ffmpeg, andffprobe. - Improved PluginLoader startup order so Decky always starts before Steam Big Picture.
- Improved Desktop/Gaming mode switching reliability.
- Improved Sunshine, input, and controller compatibility services in Gaming Mode.
- Fixed duplicate PluginLoader startup when returning to Desktop Mode.
- Fixed several layout, DPI, and text clipping issues in the Windows app and installer.
Launch Curtain
https://github.com/ZazaMastro/Launch-Curtain/releases/tag/v0.3.8
The Playhub Gaming Mode best friend.
Now the Launch Curtain supports game logos and recognizes correctly the majority of splash screens and "unloaded" game windows, in order to hide only when the game is actually loaded and elegantly fades out just like on a console.
What's changed:
- The ZIP package is now correctly installable on every DeckyLoader version.
- Shows the Steam game logo when available (supports also custom SteamGridDB logos).
- Falls back to the included Playhub logo when no game logo is found (custom logos are also supported).
- Hides only after the real game window reaches fullscreen, or when the timeout is reached.
- More compatible also with splash screens (example: Forza Horizon 5 splash screen).
- More compatible also with not full loaded windows (now the Curtain will hide only when the game reaches the fullscreen or borderless fullscreen status).
- Timeout can now be set from 5 to 60 seconds (I strongly suggest to use 30 seconds, but it's your choice and depends from your drive speed and the games you're actually trying to open).
- Curtain can be hide with ESC key or common controller B/Circle buttons.
- The Windows overlay is now shown without taking focus from the game, which should avoid audio issues in some titles.
TrailerHero
https://github.com/ZazaMastro/TrailerHero/releases/tag/v0.1.6
You asked for it and you got it:
Trailers should be seen in 4K, don't you agree?
What's changed:
- Added Steam and YouTube quality controls with one global Quality option: 720p, 1080p, or 2160p.
- Tightened YouTube matching around the game title and prefers 4K/2160p searches.
- Improved Steam trailer quality handling, including higher-quality movie and adaptive stream candidates when Steam exposes them.
- Made YouTube fallback and automatic YouTube search always on by default.
- Removed the delay selector; trailers now wait 3 seconds by default.
- Simplified UI (less useless options, more clarity)
ThemeDeck
https://github.com/ZazaMastro/ThemeDeck-Windows/releases/tag/v3.0
Your games soundtracks have never been so good to hear.
You can now auto-assign music for non-Steam games, normalize songs volume and upmix the sound 7.1.
What's changed:
- Added support non-Steam games in missing-track detection and auto-assignment.
- Added optional FFmpeg normalization for downloaded tracks.
- Added 7.1 upmix option. Keep in mind that files will be heavy to handle and their size will increase (but will sound awesome if you have an home theater surround setup).
- UI simplification
- Improved controller focus/navigation across plugin controls (no more mouse needed!).
- Improved automatic search queries for game music using
Game OST Soundtrack. - Ignored
™,®, and©symbols in game title searches. - Added visual FFmpeg feedback during automatic assignment.
- Added lists for games without music and games with music.
- Highlighted non-Steam games and normalized tracks in the lists.
- Added delete all music option for ThemeDeck-downloaded only audio files with confirmation.
- Restored the game options entry:
Choose ThemeDeck music...on recent Steam versions.
People asks for translations!
Cause not all the global population speaks italian.
For the plugins Weather, RSS News Hub and Playhub Surround, I updated the localisation in the following languages:
- English
- Italian
- French
- Spanish
- Portuguese
- Brazilian Portuguese
- German
- Dutch
- Ukrainian
- Chinese
