UPM 2507 LTSR - Explorer.exe - System error - The system detected an overrun of a stack-based buffer in this application. This overrun could potentially allos a malicious user to gain control of this application

Hi everyone,

I’ve been dealing with this issue with UPM 2507 LTSR for about a month now.

When a user logs into the VDI, an error message appears and the only thing visible in the background is a black screen.

The policies are correctly applied and working, since everything functions normally in other delivery groups.

The user store is created correctly on the share, and Citrix doesn’t report any errors on its processes or applications.

If I connect via RDP, everything works fine — the problem occurs only with ICA.

Some users don’t see the error at all and their desktop loads correctly, while others (including me) can consistently reproduce the issue, making the VDI completely unusable.

I’ve already run sfc /scannow and dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth, but the result is the same.

I also opened a Citrix support case, but so far they haven’t been able to find a solution.

Additionally, the golden image for this machine catalog is Windows 11 25H2, and the VMs are running on Citrix DaaS on Azure.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue and can share a possible fix or checks I should perform?

I'm available for any further questions.

Thank you all!
